What are the Benefits of CBDV?
CBDV has shown the potential for medical application in multiple studies. Here are some of the key benefits associated with CBDV:
Helps with Neurobehavioral Issues: A 2018 study found that CBDV has shown promise in helping the neurobehavioral issues associated with Rett syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that affects brain development and causes symptoms such as seizures, breathing problems, and intellectual disability.
Reduces Seizures: CBDV has been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of seizures, making it a potential treatment for epilepsy and other seizure disorders. In addition, the cannabinoid "exerted significant anticonvulsant effects" in a 2013 study.
Improve Cognitive and Social Skills: Researchers are currently evaluating the safety and efficacy of using CBDV to help children with ASD. The results are scheduled to release in July 2023.
Decreases Effects of Chemotherapy: Cannabis is commonly used to reduce nausea in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy; CBDV and THCV may be responsible, according to a 2013 study.
It's important to note that while these findings are promising, more research is needed to understand the medical potential of CBDV fully. In addition, further studies are required to determine the optimal dose, route of administration, and long-term effects of CBDV.
Other Minor Cannabinoids to Keep an Eye On
CBDV isn't the only cannabinoid other than CBD and THC to gain the attention of researchers. You can expect to hear more about THCV, CBC, and CBG in the future.
